A Day In The Life...

One thing that is really interesting is seeing what goes into being an event planner, florist, videographer, and photographer. I had the chance earlier in the week to see what it's like to be a florist (well, kind of). Sumitra, our fun and extremely talented florist took me behind the scenes this week to show me a little more about what she does.

We all know a florist uses flowers, obviously. But where do they get the flowers? HyVee? I wasn't sure until Sumitra took me to her safe haven…a warehouse full of flowers. The warehouse had a large cooler filled with rows and rows of all kinds of flowers…it was amazing (and freezing).

The planning process for a florist takes hours and after she has planned all the arrangements, Sumitra goes to the warehouse and handpicks everything. She took me along to the warehouse and we walked along the rows of flowers and picked some out for a beautiful bouquet (this will be posted later). I snapped some pictures along the way because I was in awe, it is no wonder she loves what she does and her ability to choose from hundreds of flowers and pick the perfect ones for your event is simply magical.
